You will find me here...
I walk down a narrow untrodden path, alone. I don’t know where it leads to, but I keep walking without any fear or doubt.
I walk until I reach a forest. Lush green, filled with majestic tall trees and dense wilderness. I can smell the wet earth under my feet, I assume that the rain had stopped falling just a while before I had reached there. As I walk deeper into the forest, I explore and take in all the beauty this bountiful forest has to offer. Massive ferns, winding climbers on thick tree trunks, crimson flowers that smell like sweet spice. I look up to feel the bright sunlight on my body, as it streams down through the tall trees. I can hear beetles chirp, and drops of rain fall from the trees into the tiny puddles on the ground. I reach out to a low hanging branch and shake it. It showers me with drops of water. It’s so cold, I feel tickled.
I see a stream at a distance. I walk towards it slowly, I am in no hurry. I walk by the stream as I fully take in the sounds of the breeze whistling through the woods, the warmth of the sun on my skin and the uneven wet ground below my feet. I eventually find that this stream leads to a river. A mighty big river, with loud powerful waters. I take in the power of the gushing water as I walk by the river bank.
As I walk further, I am surprised to see a bridge across the river. A rickety old bridge made of wooden planks, just wide enough for me to walk on. I take a step on the bridge and I feel the wood slightly crumble beneath my foot. I decide that it is best that I stay where I am, I don’t want to risk falling into the river, that will be a terrifying end to my journey here. I watch the river flow, and look at the bank on the other side. As I watch this space, a palace starts emerging. A big old palace, with cobblestone walls and tall round towers with conical roofs. It glistens and stands proud on the other side of the river bank. It is calling out to me, it emerged out of the ground, just for me. I sense the magic in the air and I am no longer afraid of the bridge. I walk across it slowly, with my eyes straight on this gorgeous castle. I can hear the heavy water gush beneath me, but I am not afraid. I know that now I will be safe.
I finally cross the mighty river and reach the gorgeous castle. I notice that the forest on this side is shimmering, there is something really magical about this place. I feel my hands against the stone walls and admire the beautiful vines growing on them. Tiny clusters of purple flowers cover parts of the castle walls, it looks so mystical. I walk toward the enormous wooden door and give it a gentle push. It opens without any resistance.
I walk in feeling welcome. I am filled with wonder, this place appears to be done up just for me. Wooden rustic furniture laid across the room. A Persian rug lies in the centre of the wooden floor. The smell of light incense fills the space. All around are intriguing souvenirs from across the world. They tell stories of mysticism and enlightenment from the lands they come from. The book shelf takes up an entire wall. Books about signs and symbolism, love letters, poetry, philosophy, alchemy, psychology, religion, astronomy, quantum physics, mythological stories and my own personal diaries. There is a small fire crackling in the fireplace. I see a beautiful big grandfather chair placed next to a large window. I look out of the window and I can see the thick forest. A stream of sunlight shines through the window pane onto the coffee table in the centre of the room, I can see the magic in the air sparkle within. I sit on my chair and look out into the forest. As I hear the fire crackle, I look within me. I feel happy and content, at peace with my solitude. I feel taken care of, and safe. This is where I belong. I am so glad to have finally arrived. I sit with this beautiful feeling. I am expecting a visitor, is it you?
